Uma Baby (Uma Ergonomics) is a Chilean brand making barefoot shoes for babies, toddlers, kids and teens, with a newer adult range too. I see mostly sneakers plus winter boots, with thin, flexible stitched rubber soles and a mix of leather and vegan microfibre options. They design their own lasts and soles and say the shoes are made with one long-term factory partner.

Uma sorts its shoes by instep height (low, medium, high), so pick the model for your child's foot shape, not just the size. Measure in cm, as sizes step up by 8 mm, and the brand suggests the next size once the longest toe is about 4 mm from the front.
