SOM is an outdoor minimalist shoe brand that started in Colorado in 2012. Since 2025 it has been made by Softstar in their Oregon workshop. I'd point you to the unisex sneakers, like the canvas Mesa, the vegan leather Graciano and the nubuck Newport. They have zero-drop soles and roomy toe boxes, and they suit everyday wear, lifting or trails.

How SOM Shoes fits

standard width

I'd call these a roomy but not extra-wide fit. Softstar's own team says the SOM sole is narrower than their Primal shape, so people with very wide toes may want the Primal range instead. The Mesa and Newport fit alike, so take the same size in both.
